The text below is a translation of the original Modern Home feature.

Featured in HOMES 家居巡禮 with words by Miranda Wong, this case study looks at a 1,367 sq ft (saleable area) flat at Greenville Gardens in Happy Valley. The original four-bedroom layout had served the family for over a decade, and as their routines and the way they lived together shifted, they decided the home was due for a real transformation. Regina Kwok, design director at Artwill Interior Design House, started with the partitions, squaring up living areas that had felt irregular and lifting both daylight and comfort in the process.

As the feature notes, the home leans on wood, marble, steel, glass and tile as its main materials, with the plan reset to two halls and three bedrooms for a household of four. The team deliberately tied the living zone to the greenery on the balcony: the BoConcept sofa reads almost like a bridge, carrying the colour outside through to the interior, while a mix of cushions makes it the visual anchor. Grey storage cabinets step back into a supporting role so the sofa stands out, and curved edges soften the ceiling cove and cabinet corners.

In keeping with an owner who loves to cook, the kitchen is semi-open. The article describes a glass sliding door the designer added so the kitchen can be sealed off completely when needed, balancing openness with practicality. The dining area pairs a Homeless (Big Will) table and chairs with a sculptural, adjustable Agnes chandelier, while the wall running across both halls gathers playful bands and beams of light. To heighten the floating feel, wood-grain floor tiles run up the wall beneath the cabinetry.

From the squared-up halls to the greenery indoors and the give-and-take of a semi-open kitchen, this Happy Valley flat shows how partitions can follow real life. To see every corner of Greenville Gardens in full, you are warmly invited to visit our project page.
