For this HOMES feature, Modern Home steps inside The Bloomsway in Tuen Mun to document the design and build Artwill Interior Design House completed for a 1,467 sq ft flat (gross area). The owners, a family of five returned from overseas, came home holding on to a love of classic grandeur, with a few American vintage pieces in their luggage. Led by founder Regina Kwok, the team shaped that wish into a three-bedroom, four-bathroom home for three, where the warmth of the classical and the ease of the contemporary share one space.

The magazine sums up the scheme as a blending of classic and modern. Rather than let the classical tip into clutter, the designers set the bones with solid materials, marble, leather, wood veneer, faux leather and stainless steel, then held the palette in check so nothing turns loud. The living and dining areas read as one continuous space: a composed marble television wall anchors the room, a crystal chandelier and a floral art panel sound the classical note, and the floor-to-ceiling windows carry green hillsides and an open sea view, tying the polish indoors to the nature just beyond the glass.

Regina Kwok puts the method simply, that she plans the space first and then layers in materials, texture and line to suit the client. That thinking shows in the detailing: gentle geometric arcs at the dining table, the entrance and the bedrooms soften the harder edges of the classical furniture. The bedrooms follow how the family actually lives. The principal bedroom keeps to darker tones lifted by gold cushions, with a picture-lined corridor leading to a dedicated walk-in wardrobe, while the young daughter's room turns to pink and white, complete with an arched princess bed frame and a soft canopy.
