Regina Kwok in ONE STORY Magazine, on Marble, Wood and Quiet Luxury
View the project
In a featured interview in the Hong Kong Special Edition of ONE STORY (Issue 12, Merci Magazine, April 2024), Regina Kwok, founder of Artwill Interior Design House, traces a design journey of more than twenty years. She began her career in commercial and office spaces before turning her focus to homes, set on creating residences that truly belong to her clients. A mother and creative director, she describes herself as driven by a single belief: to help others realise the dream of a home.
The piece casts Regina as a Material Maestro. Her signature style lies in the pairing of marble and wood, setting the veining and calm of stone against the warmth and texture of timber to find a balance between luxury and simplicity. The feature notes her gift for composing rooms in neutral tones and restrained materials, so that each home reads as unhurried, light and quietly confident, a sensitivity to proportion and to negative space that runs through her work.
The interview also explores her view on bold colour handled with simplicity. As ONE STORY describes it, Regina is unafraid to introduce strong colour over a calm base, using considered accents and soft furnishings to bring energy and depth to a space while keeping the overall mood serene. In her own words to the magazine: "I am driven to help others achieve their dream home, which is also a dream of mine as a designer."
For Regina, every project begins with careful preparation and is guided from concept and design through to build. The same language of marble, wood and quiet space carries into Artwill's Royal Peninsular residence.
