Mayfair by the Sea 8

The interior design pairs timber with royal blue, accented by richly nostalgic copper, and lifts it with elegant stone-textured touches at the foyer and on the television wall. We swapped the usual ceiling lights for textured pendants and wall lamps to bring a romantic note into the living space, and built a large bookshelf into the new work area for the family's book collection, with glass-fronted cabinet doors here and there to keep the room feeling open.

The real puzzle was the entrance, long, narrow and a touch cramped. We laid blue and yellow marble tiles in earthy tones along it, which immediately breaks up the tunnel-like view and turns the approach into something with real visual pull. A navy sliding door then separates the entrance hall from the main hall, drawing a clear line between the two zones.

We folded the guest room into the living area and used a sofa and a bar counter to split it into a seating zone and a dining zone, all without spoiling the view. The television cabinet runs out to the window sill with curved accents, leaving the cat its favourite spot near its owners. The master bedroom sits behind a walnut-veneer hidden sliding door, with a new walk-in closet behind the bed whose doors mix clear glass and deep-blue timber framing with fine floral detail, the British note again. Nearly all the joinery was custom-made by our trusted partner factory.
