Sunrise House

We built the living room around contrast you can feel. A cool white feature wall holds a recessed cove ceiling washed in warm LED light, while across the room a deep teal accent wall, hung with three black-and-white framed prints, gives the space its anchor. The seating is kept calm and tactile: an ivory fabric sofa and matching ottoman, a low timber coffee table, and a soft charcoal shag rug over mid-tone oak flooring. To one side, a custom oak-and-white open display shelf sits beside sliding panel doors, one printed with a graphic Paris motif, so the storage doubles as the room's artwork.

Upstairs the bedroom carries the same restraint. A low platform bed in pale oak backs onto a half-height headboard wall that opens, through a frameless glass partition, into an ensuite glowing with warm cove light and its own walk-in shower. Floor-to-ceiling high-gloss white wardrobes run the length of one wall for storage that disappears into the architecture, and a large window dressed in a soft cream patterned blind keeps the whole room bright and unhurried.

The kitchen and dining area is the social heart, tied together by a sculptural laser-cut timber globe pendant and a white spiral staircase that spirals up like a piece of joinery in its own right. Handle-less white cabinetry, a dark stone-topped peninsula, a glass splashback under concealed LED strip and an integrated wine fridge keep the cooking zone clean and functional, while a warm walnut dining table, moulded chairs and a chunky live-edge timber bench bring real warmth to everyday meals.
