Tai Hang Terrace

The brief was a small-flat puzzle: fit nostalgic English detail into a tight footprint without losing comfort. So the whole interior design leans on opening up and dividing in the same breath. The living room, an open kitchen and a semi-open study read as one connected space, which keeps a 511-square-foot flat feeling roomy and open while still giving each function its own corner.

The English notes are where the personality lives. Royal-blue kitchen cupboards carry decorative line work and bronze handles, and subway tiles with a retro basin and tap bring a quietly noble, old-country air to the cooking space.

We balanced all that detail with modern, hard-working moves. The kitchen worktop is contemporary and clean, a multi-functional sliding unit doubles as both a bookshelf and the bathroom door, and sliding picture frames let the walls change without clutter. Nearly all the joinery was custom-made by our trusted partner factory, which is how so much fits, and stays liveable, in so little space.
