Ask what keeps people in the same home for over ten years, and here the answer is the view. The couple love the greenery around the house, so the whole interior design is built to keep them close to it. We widened the windows to pull more of the landscape and daylight indoors, then turned nature itself into the decor, three-dimensional nature-themed installations in the foyer and living room, and art prints reworked into wallpaper, so the outdoors carries on across the walls.

The owners lean classic, but for a home meant to last we chose a modern French register instead, lighter on its feet and slower to date. Wall moulding, French windows, and fine bronze decorative lines all read as refined rather than ornate, modern in feeling while still nodding to the style they love.

As a three-storey house, the space was generous but poorly sorted, so we re-planned the rooms around how the family actually lives. The result is an extra-large ensuite that gathers the sleeping area, a full wardrobe, and a well-equipped bathroom into one suite, with a dedicated tea room and a daughter's room added for the things each of them wanted. The fitted joinery throughout was custom-made by our trusted partner factory, so every piece sits exactly where the new plan needs it.
