The Westminster Terrace
The Westminster Terrace is an interior design project completed by Artwill Interior Design House in 2011, located in New Territories, a 5,416 sq. ft. unit handled by Regina Kwok and the design team across Interior Design & Build.
At The Westminster Terrace in the New Territories, Artwill shaped a duplex living level where a grand piano, a sculptural staircase and warm stone come together into one calm, gracious whole.
The heart of the home is an open living and dining level that we kept generous and unhurried. A glossy black grand piano sits in the light of full-height windows dressed in soft sheer curtains, while the lounge gathers around a low white coffee table on a deep charcoal shag rug. The dark brown leather sectional and its white cushions read warm against pale herringbone timber flooring, and the recessed cove ceiling, with its fine moulded border and concealed warm light, lifts the whole room. Dark grey panelled partitions frame the dining area beyond, holding framed art and giving the long space a quiet sense of rhythm. This is the kind of layered, livable interior design Artwill is known for in Hong Kong.
The staircase is the architectural moment of the home. Open timber treads rise against a full slab of white marble, and we set floating wood-and-glass display niches into the run so the climb doubles as a gallery for the owners' pieces. From the second angle you can read the full material story: a slim glass-fronted display cabinet, a linear inset fireplace, a dramatic dark floral feature wall, and a wall-mounted screen wrapped in marble and dark joinery. Overhead, a sculptural run of dark timber fins gives the ceiling depth, while chrome-framed leather seating keeps the mood crisp and modern.
Upstairs, the bathroom carries the same restraint in a softer key. Large-format greige stone-look tiles wrap the walls, a walk-in glass shower with a polished chrome rail set sits beside a wall-hung wood-veneer vanity, topped with a clean white counter and a square vessel basin. An open niche of rolled white towels and a single potted plant warm the room, while recessed downlights and a full mirror keep it bright and effortless. If you are planning a home of your own, we would love to hear from you.
